Striking Aubusson tapestry after Hans Hofmann’s painting entitled “To Miz-Pax Vobiscum”. Gloria Ross and Andre Emmerich considered this image one of Hofmann’s quintessential artistic achievement and collaborated together to have it created in tapestry. Stacked with overlapping and floating forms of intense color, the image is an homage to the artist’s wife, Maria Wolfegg; nicknamed Miz. The Latin subtitle translated to “Peace be with you”, a reference to her death the year before Hofmann painted the image.
