19th century blue glass tram window advertisement A rare find, these advertisements were once so common in the tram windows and tram shelters but few have survived probably because they were glass rather than the usual card and enamel advertisements we still see The Original Tramways were horse powered and later were electrified This advertisement we have here is advertising Queens College, a secretarial college in the Southampton area, on the left we have the address and on the right the details of the sources on offer Exceptionally rare in fair condition, the advertisement is still in its original frame, the glass is in two pieces and there is a little chipping at the join and there is a diagonal crack on the left half, otherwise no issues The sign is 48” long and 9” high HT35.
